Match box holder in the form of an open-ended rectangular silver box; Elongated oval shape is cut out from each long side of box; The number "5130" is stamped on one long side of box and the word "Sterling" and 3 non-Indian hallmarks are stamped on other long side; Image of Navajo horned moon (hallmark of Bert I. Staples' Crafts del Navajo Shop, Coolidge, NM and symbol used on Elkus family silverware) is stamped on front of box; Box is unsigned by Navajo silversmith. |
