Description | Round basketry jar with flat base, rounded sides with midlevel shoulder, wide inward-sloping shoulder, and narrow mouth; Jar is woven in vertical braided technique over foundation of horizontal coils; Row of cowrie shell beads encircles lower edge of shoulder; Removable lid is woven in similar technique, has constricted neck, and is decorated with two rows of cowrie shells; Interior of jar is blackened with soot to seal it; Jar is used to store camel's milk. | |
