Description Toggling harpoon head, carved from single piece of ivory to overall cylindrical shape with pronounced median ridge extending length of both faces; Proximal end is cut off diagonally and partially drilled to form socket for attachment to foreshaft; Biconical perforation is drilled through center of shaft for attachment to line; Four pairs of shallowly incised lines begin at proximal end and extend to distal end, with the lines in each pair coming closer and closer together as they get closer to the distal end; Slot cut into tapered distal end originally held slate or copper blade (now fitted with slate blade, CAS 0005-0088).
