Description Very deep oval basket with flat base and flaring sides, woven entirely in coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp material is cedar splints and weft material is cedar roots; Design on exterior of basket is woven in imbrication technique using black dyed cherry bark and yellow dyed bear grass leaves, and consists of 6 zigzag lines that rise diagonally from the base to just below the rim; Additionally, background areas on exterior sides of basket are woven in ribbon beading technique using yellow dyed bear grass leaves, producing a decorative pattern of alternating yellow and brown vertical lines.
