Description | Deep round basket with flat base and sides that flare slightly on the lower half, then rise vertically on the upper half; Basket is woven in coiled technique over a bundle foundation; Warp material is split cattails and primary weft material is peeled and split willow shoots; Designs are woven of black devil's claw and consist of two registers of 4 human hand prints each on the sides of the basket; Lower register is all right hands and upper register is all left hands; Final rim coil is woven entirely of black devil's claw. | |
