3-dimensional carved figure in standing position, representing Toson Koyemsi (Mudhead Ogre or Cornmeal Tasting Mudhead), who accompanies the ogres and tastes the cornmeal that village girls have prepared to determine its quality; They also accompany Soyoko who threatens to eat children who do not grind cornmeal for her; Koyemsi's body is painted completely brown and he is wrapped in a shoulder blanket with gray stripes alternating with blue and brown stripes; He also wears painted black leggings and brown moccasins, and a black cloth kerchief around his neck; Brown sack mask has round knob-like projections at sides and on back and conical projection on top, as well as circular pop-out eyes and flattened beak-like mouth; Small black feather tied to knobs on mask. |
