3-dimensional carved figure in standing position, representing Angwusnasomtaka (Crow Mother), the mother of all katsinam and who plays an important role in initiation ceremonies to induct children into katsina societies; Figure is dressed in carved and painted black dress, white maiden's shawl, and white moccasins; She wears pale blue case mask with two black stacked triangles on face and large black ears at sides; Black and white down feathers are attached to top of mask. |
