Description 3-dimensional carved figure in standing position, representing Hümis Katsina (Ripened Corn Katsina, aka Hemis [Jemez] Katsina), who usually appears in the Niman (going home) ceremony; Figure's body is completely painted black and he wears carved and painted white kilt, red moccasins, and white bandolier; Case mask is red on top and back while face is vertically bisected by black line into blue right side and yellow left side; Projecting rim along top has orange and yellow bands; Elaborate terraced tableta is painted with terraces and arched motifs in light and dark blue, orange, yellow, black and white, with small feather tied to corner of each terrace; Slender blue pole glued to back of mask extends to top of tableta and is decorated with feather bundle at top.
