Description 3-dimensional carved figure in standing position with articulated arms, representing Shulawitsi (Fire Katsina), who cares for the sun and fire, and who is always impersonated by a pre-adolescent young boy, whose duties include lighting fires to signal the Shalako impersonators to bring out their masks; Figure's body, head, and face are painted black with multi-colored dots to represent cardinal directions; He wears only a black cloth breechcloth, miniature red leather moccasins, and a coral and turquoise necklace and bracelets (all carved of wood; Length of carded and braided wool and small feather bundle is tied to top of head; Figure carries juniper bark torch in right hand and bundle of wooden sticks in left hand.
