Description |
Cylindrical bag with rounded bottom and vertical sides; Woven entirely in open, 2-strand twining with several rows of close-spaced twining just below midlevel height; Warp fibers are clipped at rim; Final 3 rows of twining are reinforced with continuous running stitch of native cordage looped along rim; Bundle of 7 cordage fibers are tied on interior of basket at two places to form carrying strap; Exterior of bag is lightly smeared with ochre. |
