Description | Small cylindrical basket with flat base and vertical sides, woven primarily in closed plain twining, with regularly spaced rows of exposed, crossed warps on the side of the basket; Warp and weft fiber is rye grass stems; Designs on upper sides of basket are woven of worsted wool yarn in false embroidery technique and consist of light blue band bordered by red and blue checked band; A second design band just below rim consists of row of spaced alternating orange and green blocks with similar sized blocks of light blue in between but one row above them. | |
