Description | Shallow oval tray with flat base and very low, slightly flared sides, woven in close-spaced coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp material is bear grass stems; Primary weft material is split, sun bleached yucca leaves; Final two coils extend beyond succeeding coil at ends to form handles; Designs are woven in black devil's claw pods and consist of small cross with open center at each end of the base and terraced V-shape enclosing a small cross along each side of the base; Rim is finished in a running stitch of black devil's claw that is alternately vertical and then diagonal. | |
