Description | Small round basket with flat base and flaring sides, woven entirely in plain twining technique except for single row of 3-strand twining along juncture of base and sides and along rim; Warp and weft material spruce roots; Designs include one dyed brown spruce root fiber in each of the 3-strand twined rows, and well as 2 rectilinear meander bands that encircle the sides of the basket, each woven of dyed rust-brown bear grass leaves in a false embroidery technique, and enclosing an orange rectangle within each angle of the meander; Rectangles are also woven of bear grass leaves; Each meander band is framed above and below by a single row of dark brown spruce roots that are woven in plain twining. | |
