Description | 3 irregularly shaped fragments of kapa, made by beating strips of bark into very thin sheets; All fragments are dark brown in overall color and bear the same watermark of closely spaced, very thin, paired parallel lines alternating with a negative thin zigzag line; Fragment A is also painted with wide very dark brown stripes, alternating with wider stripes of the lighter colored dark brown background; Fragments B and C are painted with narrower parallel dark brown lines spaced approx. 0.6 cm apart on the lighter dark brown background; Fragment B also has a portion of a wider dark brown stripe along one edge; Fragments B and C were originally joined together (see photo); It is unknown if Fragment A was originally part of the same cloth as Fragments B and C, as all fragments have been cut along all edges. | |
