Description | A,B: Small wooden box with removable front panel, imprinted with Japanese script; C: Miniature wooden lion mask with movable lower jaw and separately attached ears; Mask is unpainted except for red interior of mouth tips of ears, and nostrils and gold teeth and eyes; Tuft of white horsehair is attached to top of mask and held in place by small gold crown; D: Miniature wooden sword with gold-colored hilt, to be displayed in lion’s mouth; E: Small rug made from blue print fabric with white backing, on which mask would be displayed; Also included in box is small explanatory note in Japanese language. | |
