Description Tall cylindrical basketry-covered glass jar with separate basketry lid; Glass jar is of pale green glass and was probably a beer or other beverage bottle, with a flat base, vertical sides that rise to a high shoulder and then taper before rising to form a tall cylindrical tapering neck; Base of basket is woven partly in 3-strand twining and partly in plain twining technique, while remainder of basket is woven in plain twining technique, probably using spruce roots as both warp and weft fibers; Virtually entire basket is woven in half twist overlay technique, using undyed bear grass leaves as the secondary weft material and the background for designs that are woven of black maidenhair fern stems; Designs on sides of jar consist of two zigzag bands of small black triangles and five pairs of plain encircling lines, including two which horizontally bisect the zigzag bands; Lid is woven in same techniques as the jar and is decorated with single pair of black encircling lines around its midsection.
