Description | Large round shallow basket with flat base and widely flaring sides, woven in coiling technique over bundle foundation (on inner coils) and rod foundation (on outer coils); Warp material is probably sumac shoots and primary weft material is bleached yucca leaves; Design is woven of bleached and unbleached yellow yucca leaves and brown yucca root and consists of negative 4-point star in center of basket, outlined with larger positive 4-point star, with the points extending to the rim; Brown terraced triangle is located in each point of both the negative and positive stars; Wide terraced V-shape of unbleached yucca and terraced triangle of yucca root fill spaces between star's points around rim. | |
