Description Pair of lacquered papier mache figurines depicting the seated Emperor and Empress, both on a single low wooden platform; The two figures are similar dressed in white outer robes with blue, orange, and gold decorative markings; The Emperor wears an blue undergarments and a black hat and is holding a gold staff in his folded hands; The Empress wears an orange undergarment and a gold hat or crown and holds an open fan at her front; The seating platform is painted black; Artist’s signature is printed in black paint on reverse side of the Emperor.
