Description | Large round flat plaque, woven entirely in coiled technique over large bundle coils; Small yucca-wrapped suspension loop is sewn into final coil on reverse face; Warp material is galleta grass stems and weft material is natural and aniline dyed split yucca leaves; Geometric design consists of four large terraced V-shapes, each consisting of of a central terraced diamond flanked on either side by a terraced half diamond and a terraced triangle, with the various parts equally divided between red and green and all outlined in black; The arrangement of the V-shaped motifs produces a large negative four-petal floral design in the center of the plaque. | |
