Description Deep round cooking basket with flat base and flaring sides, woven in coiled technique over bundle foundation; Basket start is a clock spring coil, work face is interior of basket and weaving is done in clockwise direction; Final bundle gradually tapers at rim; Primary warp material is stems of deer grass gathered into bundles; Primary weft material is peeled willow; Secondary weft materials used in designs includes split redbud stems and dyed bracken fern roots; Designs include two parallel bands around sides of basket, each showing a rattlesnake design comprising band of diamonds woven in redbud alternating with paired opposing triangles, woven in black bracken fern roots; A third band of elongated black dashes situated along two coils encircles basket just below rim.
