Description Small round jar with flat base, rounded undersides that flare outward to a low shoulder, then taper inward as they rise steeply to the rim; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth and exterior is especially sanded smooth; Jar is completely undecorated; Interior and exterior are coated with piñon pine pitch; Artist’s signature “Alice” is lightly incised in script on base. Alice Williams Cling is the daughter of Rose Williams and the former sister-in-law of Lorraine Williams, both of whose works are represented in the CAS pottery collection.
