Description Rectangular Chinle-style rug woven entirely in plain, weft-faced tapestry technique with non-interlocking joins; Design consists of 4 bands that each contain a row of contiguous concentric serrated diamonds in spruce green, white, gray-tan, and rust brown on a spruce green background, alternating with five plainer bands, each made up of very narrow bands in spruce green, white, gray-tan, and rust brown on a background of medium brown; Weaver’s initial (?) “S’ is woven in white near one corner of rug; Selvage and end cords are both gray-tan and medium brown (both colors on each side and each end). See CAS 2013-0004-0005 for another rug by same weaver.
