| Description | Rectangular Wide Ruins style rug woven entirely in plain weft-faced tapestry technique with non-interlocking joins; Borderless, banded design includes 4 horizontal design bands; Two of the bands show a row of contiguous concentric serrated diamonds (in tan, gold, and rose) flanked on either side by a row of tan diamonds edged in rose with a narrow band woven in beaded technique down center of tan diamonds, all on gold-colored background; Other two design bands are similar except that the first row of diamonds are pine green, gold, and rose; Alternating with the design bands are plain bands that are mostly tan or light gray, with white, rose and gold accents; Selvage and end cords are all tan. This rug was awarded a first place ribbon in 1982 at the New Mexico State Fair, Albuquerque, NM. | |
