Description | Small round basket with flat base and vertical sides, woven in coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp material is split cattail stems and primary weft material is peeled and split willow shoots; Designs are woven of black devil's claw pods and consist of large solid black circular area covering most of the base, and a continuous lineal band with both horizontal and diagonal segments that forms a row of contiguous open truncated triangles around the sides; Final rim coil is woven entirely of black devil's claw in a false braid stitch. | |
