Description | Small round basket with flat base and vertical sides, woven entirely in coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp material is rye grass stems and weft material is rye grass leaves; Unlike most coiled baskets, this one has a coil terminus on the base, followed by a separate coil around the junction of the base and sides, and finally an entirely new coil begins the sides; Basket is completely undecorated; Length of exposed fibers in final rim coil suggests this basket may have been left unfinished. | |
