Description Rectangular Chinle-style rug woven entirely in plain weft-faced tapestry technique with non-interlocking joins; Borderless, banded design consists of alternating design bands (repeated 3 times) and plain bands (repeated 4 times); Design band shows row of contiguous black serrated diamonds, edged with white and gray hourglass shapes, all on deep red background; “Plain” bands show a narrow “beaded” red, black (or brown) and white band flanked by wavy Crystal-weave (white and gray-brown) band, then by plain gray-brown band, and finally by narrow wavy band (on innermost bands) or by “beaded” black and white band (on end bands); Selvage cords and end cords are black.
