Description | Round basket with wide, flat base and rounded sides that curve inward slightly toward the rim; Basket is woven in coiled technique over single-rod foundation; Warp material is peeled willow shoots that have been carefully sized, and the weft material is peeled and split willow roots; Designs are woven of wool yarn and consist of band of red and green "Z" motifs (lying on their sides) that encircles the mid-section of the basket, framed above and below by paired black and yellow dashed lines. | |
