Description Small deep round basket with flat base and slightly flaring sides; Base of basket is woven in alternating rows of plain twining and simple plaiting techniques, and sides are woven entirely in plain twining; Warp and weft material is spruce roots; Wide design band around mid-section of basket is woven in plain twining technique, using dyed gray-green spruce roots as the background and dyed red spruce roots along the edges; Overlaying this band and woven in false embroidery, using undyed bear grass leaves are 3 large "I" motifs, alternating with 3 concentric cross motifs that are woven of dyed yellow and black bear grass leaves; Designs also include narrow red and gray-green band along rim, single-row gray-green band at junction of base and sides, and dashed bright green spiral band that encircles center of base, all of which are woven of dyed spruce roots.
