Description Deep round cylindrical basket with flat base and vertical sides, along with round domed lid with wide flat knob handle and low sides that fit over the basket's rim; Both basket and lid are woven in plain twining technique except one band of 3-strand twining at juncture of base and sides of the basket and another along edge of lid; Warp material and primary weft material is spruce roots; Designs are woven in plain twining on base and consist of two concentric bands of dyed green spruce root; Designs on sides are woven in false embroidery technique of dyed bear grass and consist of 3 bands, each composed of 4 very wide S-shaped motifs in alternate colors of green and orange; Designs on lid are also woven in false embroidery and consist of 2 concentric bands (1 on knob handle and 1 on top of lid) that are divided into parallelogram-shaped segments in solid colors of orange or green dyed bear grass and black maidenhair fern; In both rows of 3-strand twining, 1 of the wefts is dyed green.
