Description | Deep round basket with relatively flat base and straight, vertical sides; Basket is woven entirely in open 2-strand twining, with the rows of twining being widely spaced on the base and more closely spaced on the sides; Warp material is rye grass stems and they are paired on base, while on the sides one warp from each pair moves alternately to the left or right in each succeeding twined row; Near the rim, two sets of paired warps are crossed for decorative purposes; Warps are bend over at rim and partially incorporated into final row which is done in 3-strand braiding. | |
