Description Large oval food serving bowl, carved from single piece of wood, with flat base, deep sides, and pointed ends that flare outward; Interior of bowl is carved out and surfaces are sanded smooth and left unadorned; Exterior is also sanded smooth and unadorned except for ridge that extends up the sides at each end and carved in low relief with row of contiguous diamonds on one end and series of incised chevrons and double row of squares on opposite end; Another ridge that encircles the bowl on the upper exterior sides, approx. 2 cm below the rim, is carved with a series of contiguous triangles; Small round appendage on one end of bowl is perforated, probably to allow for hanging bowl when not in use.
