| Description | Pair of ceramic figurines depicting seated Emperor and Empress, both on a single low black platform; Both figures are largely undecorated, with minimal painting to depict their faces and hair; Emperor’s robes are decorated in a gold floral pattern; His hairstyle is shaved sides of the head with a high bun on the crown of his head and pony tail down to his left shoulder; Both bun and ponytail are painted black; A hair pin is stuck horizontally through the bun; Empress’s robes are decorated at the bottom with a gold floral and grass motif; Her hair is long, hanging down her back and is largely unpainted; A=Emperor; B=Empress; C=Stand; Sticker on bottom of each figure has kanji that read 京 ・陶人形 - 益三 (Kyou・tou ningyou - Masuzou: “Kyoto ceramic doll - Masuzou [a proper name]â€). *Non-Roman alphabet characters are not legible in the online listing.
