Description Round basket with flat base and rounded sides with high shoulder and in-curving rim; Basket probably was originally lidded; Woven entirely in coiled technique over bundle foundation, using smaller coils and narrower weft material than is typical of traditional Yup'ik coiled basketry; Warp and weft material is beach grass; Decoration consists of embroidered plant and star motifs, arranged in 10 columns of alternating motifs; Each column contains 3 motifs, in colors of yellow, red, green, and purple.
