Description | Small basket with flat, square base, vertical sides, and wide, round mouth; Basket is essentially made from single sheet of birch bark that has been trimmed and folded to shape; Natural white color of exterior of bark faces outward; Separate bark strips are placed along exterior rim on two sides of basket for additional support and secured by a single rod that encircles rim and is coil-wrapped with willow roots; Coil wrapping also holds folded ends in place. | |
