Materials Rye grass (Elymus sp.) stems; Worsted wool yarn; Seal gut
Description Deep cylindrical basket with flat base and vertical sides; Basket is woven entirely in closed plain twining except for single row of 3-strand twining along juncture of base and sides and 3 spaced rows of exposed crossed warps on base; Warp and weft material is rye grass stems; Designs on exterior sides of basket are woven of worsted wool yarn and white seal gut and consist of five bands of floating rectangles with white seal gut centers (motifs in center row are green and pink; Next two rows are blue and pink, and top and bottom rows are purple and red); Matching round slightly domed lid is woven in similar technique to basket and has wide central knob handle with very flat top; Designs on lid include concentric segmented bands on knob handle and 4 bands of rectangles on the shoulder and side of lid similar to those on the basket, all in similar colors.
