Description Deep round basket with flat base and slightly flared vertical sides, woven primarily in plain twining technique; Single row of 3-strand twining is located at junction of base and sides and wide band around rim (cm wide) alternates rows of plain and 3-strand twining; Warp fibers are bent over at rim and bound under in a false braid; Warp and weft material is spruce roots; Dyed weft fibers are used for the designs around the sides (on plain twined area) and consist of four concentric dark blue bands of equal width; Each band may have originally contained within it a narrower band of contrasting color or have been outlined in a contrasting color, although no traces of such are now evident.
