Description | Deep round basket with flat base and slightly flaring sides, woven entirely in plain twining technique; except for narrow 4-strand braided band around rim on exterior; Warp and weft material is spruce roots; Designs are woven of dyed black spruce roots and consist of five parallel bands of equal width, each of which consists of a wide center band bordered on either side by a narrow line; One of these bands (whose center band is actually narrower than the others) is located on the base while the remaining four are located around the sides of the basket. | |
