Description | Miniature cylindrical basket with flat base and vertical sides, woven entirely in closed plain twining, except for two bands of exposed crossed warps on sides; Warp and weft material is rye grass stems; Designs are woven of dyed rye grass stems in closed twining technique and consist of blue band on red background, bordered by blue band on base, and three patterned blue bands that encircle sides of basket; Matching lid has very shallow overlapping side and is woven in same technique as basket, including two rows of exposed crossed warps; Designs on lid consist of two concentric blue bands. | |
