Description Clear ovoid-shaped bottle with slightly flared sides rising to a high rounded shoulder and short cylindrical neck, completely covered in basketry, and corresponding round lid with flat top and low sides that fit over the rim of the bottle's neck; Warp material throughout basket and lid is cedar bark; Base of basket is woven in simple plaiting technique, using cedar bark as both the warp and weft, followed by several rows of coarse plain twining, and several rows of fine plain twining; Sides of basket and entire lid are woven in wrapped twining technique, using bear grass leaves as the weft; Basket's shape conforms exactly to contours of the bottle, ending approx. 1 cm below the bottle's rim, which was originally sealed with a cork; Designs are woven of dyed bear grass leaves and include several parallel bands that encircle bottle; Primary band around mid-section contains alternating orange and purple diagonal zigzags, with purple and yellow framing lines, the outermost one being a row of small contiguous purple triangles; Approx. 2.5 cm above and below are 2 bands of small contiguous green triangles, and at the base and shoulder of the bottle, respectively, are 2 bands of alternating purple and yellow parallelograms; Concentric purple, orange and green bands encircle the neck; Designs on lid include round purple area in center and dark blue band along rim.
