Description Large rectangular basket with rounded corners, flat base, and slightly flared sides; Warp material throughout basket is cedar bark; Base of basket is woven primarily in simple plaiting technique, using very wide cedar bark slats for the warp and narrower slats for the weft: outermost area of base is woven in plaint twining technique, using cedar bark as the weft; Sides of basket are woven entirely in wrapped twining technique, using bear grass leaves as the weft; Warps are bent over at the rim and bound into the final row of twining; Designs are woven of dyed bear grass leaves and consist of 3 registers of parallel purple, yellow, and dark blue bands on a straw-colored background; Series of small loops wrapped in orange bear grass leaves extend around the entire rim, forming a scalloped edge.
