Description | Round utilitarian peach tray with flat base and gently flaring sides; Basket is woven entirely in wicker technique using single wefts over multiple warps; Warp material is whole, unpeeled scrub sumac stems and weft material is whole peeled and unpeeled scrub sumac stems; Design consists of concentric bands in alternating light and dark colors, accomplished by alternate use of peeled and unpeeled weft stems; At rim, one stem in each warp group or bundle is bent over and incorporated into rim bundle that is coil-wrapped with yucca leaves; Remaining warp stems are clipped at rim. | |
