Description Woman's concho belt comprising 11 hammered oval conchos with a band of crescent shapes stamped around perimeter of each concho; A twelfth concho approximately twice as large as the others and with a rectangular cutout in its center serves as the belt buckle; Flat silver loop soldered onto reverse of each concho allows for stringing them onto leather belt; Hallmark "SR" (Sam Roanhorse) is stamped on reverse of belt buckle; Individual conchas are unsigned; Conchos and buckle are strung on black leather belt. Sam Roanhorse was the younger brother of Ambrose Roanhorse, an important Navajo silversmith whose work is also represented in the Elkus Collection.
