Description | Model of a rectangular one room pueblo-style house; Exterior walls, rooftop, interior floor and ceiling, base, and outdoor bread oven are all covered with tan slip; Outdoor courtyard and frames of cutout doorway and window in front wall and of cutout window on side wall are all painted brick red; Exposed ends of vigas on front wall are outlined in black, and red chile ristras hang from 4 of the 5 vigas; The front wall is removable to reveal a corner fireplace inside and two pueblo women kneeling and grinding corn, using manos and metates; Each woman is dressed in black wrap-around pueblo dress worn over a brightly colored blouse; Signature "Mrs. P.R. Tosa" and "Jemez" are printed in black on base. | |
