Description Deep, round bowl with flat base and rounded, flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth; Interior and upper body of exterior are slipped white; Exterior underbody and base are slipped red; Wide design band on exterior contains 3 large floral motifs, each with central petal flanked on either side by a large leaf that seemingly grows from paired framing lines along bottom of band; Solid black line outlines lip; Bowl is unsigned. Some researchers have identified this bowl as a Cochiti Pueblo piece, but a group of Cochiti potters, in conversation with Katherine Rust in November, 1981, thought that it is definitely from Santo Domingo.
