Description | Large round olla or water jar with concave base, flaring sides that curve upward to a high, well defined shoulder, short inward sloping neck, and wide mouth; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth; Upper and lower exterior sides are slipped white; Underbody and base are slipped reddish brown; Wide band around neck is filled with black and red geometric units; Pair of wide parallel brown lines encircles shoulder; 2 large rosettes with black and red geometric designs are positioned on opposite sides of jar below shoulder; Area between rosettes is divided into 3 horizontal bands; Upper and lower bands contain deer with heart lines; Center band contains ducks; Jar is unsigned. | |
