| Description | Oval, bird-shaped effigy jar with rounded base, rounded sides that curve inward toward rim, and hollow cylindrical neck that extends out from upper side and above rim, terminating in bird-shaped head with modeled eyes and flat top; 2 pair of perforated holes just below rim allow jar to be suspended; Interior and exterior surfaces are scraped smooth; Exterior is coated with white slip; Painted design on exterior includes band of contiguous black triangles around rim, 2 bands of contiguous black parallelograms around shoulder, and narrow line with pendant dots above and below around midsection; Bird's head and neck are decorated with similar design bands. | |
