Description |
Cylindrical jar with flat base and vertical sides; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth and coated with a slip; Exterior sides and rim are highly burnished; Designs around upper sides on exterior are painted in matte black slip and include 2 pairs of elongated triangles alternating with 3 overlapping, stacked semicircles (cloud design), all pendant from upper framing line located just below rim; Jar is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Rose" is incised in script on base. |
