Description | Round jar with flat base, flaring sides that rise to a high shoulder, and an inward sloping neck; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth and coated with a slip; Exterior sides and rim are highly burnished; Design band that encircles neck is painted in matte black slip and consists of 4 negative feather (?) motifs; Jar is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Cerelia + Juan" is incised in script on base. Cerelia and Juan are a husband and wife team. | |
