Description | Round jar with flat base, steeply flaring sides, and inward-curving rim; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth; Band around upper half of jar on exterior is carved in low relief and includes paired kiva steps alternating with paired vertical triangles; Both motifs are repeated twice; Carved areas are painted with matte gray slip; Uncarved surfaces on exterior and rim are well burnished; Jar is unsigned (same maker as CAS 0370-0234). | |
