Description | Round bowl with flat base, rounded sides, and slightly inward curving rim; Single bail handle is attached at two points on the rim and arches high over the bowl's wide mouth; Interior is minimally scraped; Exterior and handle are scraped very smooth, coated with a slip, and highly burnished, except for base; Design band around upper sides of bowl is painted in matte black slip and consists of 6 contiguous triangles, each with three short parallel horizontal lines extending out from side; Band is bordered below by single framing line; Bowl is reduction fired to black-on-black color and is unsigned. | |
